HOYTS Careers

At HOYTS, we’re big picture people. We share a passion for delivering awesome experiences for movie-goers. We want our people to experience more too. Here at HOYTS, we know that our people are our greatest asset. We currently employ over 3,000 employees and we are constantly on the lookout for people who embody our FIERCE Values to join our team. That is: Focused, Innovative, Excellent, Resourceful, Caring and Empowered. We’re a guest obsessed business, so when our people perform at their best, our customers have an outstanding experience. We give you the support, experience and personal development you need to excel; not just in your current role, but for your future. How to join the team

Workplace Giving

HOYTS is a proud charity partner with The Fred Hollows Foundation, RSPCA, RUOK?, OzHarvest and The Motion Picture Benevolent Society. Through our Workplace Giving Program we are committed to giving back to the community and to our five worthy charities that our employees feel passionately about. We embody our FIERCE values through volunteering, donating, and skill-sharing and are dedicated to help those in need.

Round Up for Charity

HOYTS encourages our guests to support our nominated charities, and forge connections between our teams and the community. Our guests have the option to ‘round up for charity’ at any HOYTS cinema point of sale. All proceeds will be equitably donated to HOYTS charity partners. You can help make a difference and support these worthy causes.

Our Commitment to Sustainability

We, at The HOYTS Group, are proud of the positive impact we have in the lives of those we have the privilege of entertaining. Whether it be in our HOYTS cinemas where we create outstanding experiences, or our Val Morgan channels where we connect brands with engaged audiences, we are respected not just for what we deliver, but also for how we conduct ourselves. Our measures of success include our impact on the environment and efforts to protect our planet, how we operate our business, our contributions to local communities and other charity partners, the value we place on diversity and inclusion, and our commitment to the wellbeing and advancement of our employees. We are proud to be a longstanding presence in Australia and New Zealand and we are committed to helping to create positive experiences for our communities and to reducing our impact on the environment.

Our 2023 Gender Pay Gap Analysis

As a key action to help improve workplace gender equality, the gender pay gaps for nearly 5000 Australian private sector employers were published for the first time in February 2024 by the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA). The HOYTS Group is supportive of this step towards transparency and accountability in addressing the gender pay gap.

We are pleased that the recent analysis of the gender pay gap within our organisation reveals a median of 0% (compared with an Industry Comparison Group figure of 27.2%) and a total workforce composition of 54% female, reflecting our commitment to fostering a workplace that values equality and inclusivity. This achievement underscores the strides we have taken in promoting fairness and equal opportunities for all employees. However, we recognise that there is more work to do in addressing any underlying disparities.

You can read more about our multifaceted approach to achieving gender equity through our diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging initiatives in our 2023 Gender Pay Gap Report Employment Statement.

Reconciliation at The HOYTS Group

The HOYTS Group acknowledges the Traditional Owners and Communities of the lands on which our business operates. We pay our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and to their Elders past and present. We commit to listening to and learning from First Nation People voices.

We received endorsement on our inaugural Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan in February 2024, which is our formal commitment to advancing reconciliation between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and non-Indigenous Peoples, both within our organisation and in our communities.  Our RAP represents an opportunity for The HOYTS Group to build upon our existing initiatives and to signal our commitment to building relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander associations, businesses and Peoples and using our brand and screen network to increase understanding and respect for traditional cultures and history.  We are now working towards implementing our RAP’s actions and deliverables.   Since opening the doors of our first cinema in 1909, The HOYTS Group has been committed to welcoming everyone to our cinemas and providing a safe and inclusive place for people to come together.  With cinemas at 59 locations, screens at more than 2000 locations and 6 digital media brands, we’re part of the fabric of the communities in which we operate. For this reason, we understand that we have a responsibility to help drive meaningful change, including by supporting the national reconciliation movement.
